Frequently asked questions

Does Debrief work offline?

Yes. Once the app and its AI model are installed, transcription and summarization run entirely on your device with no internet connection required.

Do my recordings go to the cloud?

No. Everything stays on your device. We have no servers that receive your recordings, transcripts, or summaries.

Why does the app download a file on first launch?

To run AI summarization on your device, the app downloads an AI model once. This is a one-time download (around 1–2 GB). We recommend doing it over Wi-Fi. After that, summarization works offline.

Which devices are supported?

Debrief Notes supports iPhone running iOS 18 or later. Some features may perform better on newer devices with more memory.

The transcript has mistakes. Can I fix them?

Where supported, you can edit a transcript before generating a summary.

How do I delete a recording?

Delete it within the app. To remove everything, delete the app — all recordings and notes are stored locally and are removed with it.

Is there an account or subscription?

No account is required, and there are no per-meeting or token fees for the core features.
